The Sound Poets; a NYC based band co-led by drummer Domo Branch, bassist Ben Feldman, pianist Matt Malanowski, and vocalist Imani Williams. They strive to make music that inspires, uplifts, and heals.


Ben Feldman

is New York bassist and composer from Seattle, WA. He started playing music at age 13, and he quickly began working as a professional bassist. He has performed with the 2017 Grammy Jazz band and 2017 Vail Jazz band, as well as nationally recognized musicians Matt Wilson, Dave Liebman, and Joey Alexander. He currently attends Manhattan School of Music and is a student of Buster Williams. When not playing music, he enjoys photography and exercise.


Domo Branch

Domo Branch Is a drummer addicted to all styles.Domo Branch, Started in Portland, Oregon as a young bull. Young African American, attending Manhattan School of Music studying all genres. He works to be versatile; able to play all different types of music. He is a student of Kendrick Scott, and has performed with musicians such as Sean Jones, Taylor Eigsti, George Colligan, Orrin Evans, Dianne Reeves and Wynton Marsalis.


Matt Malanowski

Matt Malanowski is currently a jazz pianist studying jazz piano performance at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, NY. He has been playing piano since the age of 4 and comes from a very musical background. Matt has performed at prestigious venues such as Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, the Appel Room, the Grammy Awards, Capital Records, Martha’s Vineyard Jazz and Blues Festival, the Met Room, Club Bonafide, Webster Hall, Shapeshifter Lab, Carnegie Hall, Faust Harrison Pianos, as well as many others. Matt has played with many well known musicians including Matt Wilson, Avery Sharpe, Conrad Herwig, Nilson Matta, Jazzmeia Horn, Jane Monheit, Lou Tebakin, Luis Bonilla, Jimmy Greene, NY Voices, Jon Faddis and many more.


Imani Williams

This Texas-born songstress has skills beyond her years when it comes to interpreting and delivering the heart and soul of a ballad, or the vivacity of an upbeat ditty.

She currently makes her home in New York City, where she is refining her gift at The Manhattan School of Music. Prior to moving to NYC, she studied at Columbia College Chicago where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree. While in Chicago, Imani performed many stages around the city including the legendary Jazz Showcase and The Green Mill. Since moving to New York just a few months ago, Jazz Singer Imani has already gotten to play on stages such as the world famous Dizzy's Jazz Club, and The 55 bar, and looks forward to where her gift will take her next!
